Travel to Bethlehem
Beginning in June,
St. Peter is going to have an exercise program called "Travel to
Bethlehem". We are going to be "Traveling to Bethlehem" using the
exercise miles you complete in
order to arrive in Bethlehem by Christmas. Biking, running, walking,
and roller blading are just some examples of activities that we
encourage you to participate in on your own time. Keep track of the
miles you complete and report them to us each week when you come
to church by filing out a quick tracking slip. The maps to show our
progress are located in the church outside of the cry room, and outside
of Pastor Brian's office by Kaiser Hall. Guidelines for this journey,
along with the drop-off boxes marked "Travel to Bethlehem" for your
mileage slips, are located under the maps. So get out your pedometers,
dust off the treadmill, and join us in staying fit and reaching our
goal of 6000 miles to Bethlehem!!! Questions, contact Lilian 247-5112
or Jackie 786-1977.

Project
12 Baskets
Our
partnership with Project12Baskets is allowing us to collect donated
items of value and turn them into dollars. Their support staff and
system connects us to a variety of public electronic auction sites and
resale specialists. This process delivers broad participation and
increases the price of items to their optimal value. As the sales take
place, we get the dollars and the donors get a wonderful tax deduction!
Project12Baskets
draws its name from the story of the feeding of the 5000. There we read
how the Lord took meager provisions, 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, and
fed a small army of followers. He fed everyone and when the crowd had
eaten until they were full, He said to his disciples, "Why don't you
pick up the leftovers." When they did, to their surprise, there were 12
baskets filled to the top.
Project12Baskets
challenges us to
look closely at that abundance to determine if what was once precious
might now serve the Lord in a more useful and immediate
manner. Click here for more information:
