Pastor
Ken Wagener was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on September 14, 1960. He
was baptized at Advent Lutheran Church and confirmed at Christ Memorial
Lutheran Church in St. Louis.
His
parents, Kenneth and Doris Wagener, raised three children: Ken, Debbie,
and David. His father passed away in 1975, and his death planted the
seed and opened the door for Ken to study for the ministry.
Pastor Ken
married Brenda Lynn Winter on June 7, 1980-. In June, 1993, they were
blessed with their beautiful daughter, Alissa Suzanne ("Libby").
He studied at
St. Paul's College, Concordia, Missouri and the University of
Missouri-St. Louis. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in
1986. He also studied at the University of Iowa and Marquette
University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
He has served congregations in Millersburg and
Deep River,
Iowa, in Milwaukee, in Millstadt, Illinois, and most recently as
associate pastor of Peace Lutheran Church, St. Louis. From 1995-2002 he
served as an editor of educational and professional. resources at
Concordia Publishing House.
His
ministry passions are discripleship ("equip, enrich, encourage") and
family life. He's a certified counselor/facilitator for The Seven
Habits of Highly Effective Families and for Prepare/Enrich, a
pre-marital and marriage program.
Pastor
Ken loves spending time with his family and watching terrific movies.
An avid sports fan (yes, St. Louis teams!), he also enjoys working
outside, classical music, and reading history and novels. |
