Parent Update

A message from our Principal, Mr. Tim Leinberger:

St. Peter families,

I wanted to take a moment to share some thoughts regarding next week. Many families have probably seen the schedule of events detailed in the Parent Update. While it's a fun week of activities, special guests and replacing school uniforms with themed attire, I encourage families to join the bigger celebration.

National Lutheran Schools Week (NLSW) provides the network of over 2,000 LCMS early childhood centers, elementary schools and high schools with the public opportunity to proclaim and celebrate God's work in Lutheran schools. We thank God for the wonderful blessings of Christian education He has provided at St. Peter for more than 140 years!

We praise God for the freedom to teach His Word in the classroom, begin our days with prayer, worship at chapel and sharing the life changing message of Jesus. Next week, St. Peter will join other LCMS schools in sharing God's amazing love in the community we serve. We encourage families to invite your friends and neighbors to share with us in Worship this weekend and at our Open House (Preschool- 8th grade) this Sunday, January 26th from Noon-2:00 PM.

A schedule of our NLSW events is attached for your convenience. I pray your family enjoys this special week and celebrates all that God has blessed us with!  We extend our gratitude for your continuous support of St Peter Lutheran School and dedication to teaching our children to be faithful followers of Christ.

Mr. Leinberger

2020-2021 Kindergarten - 8th Grade Tuition:

The St. Peter Lutheran School Board of Education decided at their January meeting that there will be no tuition increases for the 2020-2021 school year.

For those receiving Financial Aid, you need to reapply each year. This can be completed by visiting

2020-2021 Re-Enrollment

New and Simplified!

The Re-enrollment Process for returning Kindergarten - 7th grade students for the 2020-2021 school year has been simplified. All current K-7th grade students will automatically be re-enrolled for the 2020-2021 school year using "Continuous Enrollment" through TADS.

The re-enrollment fee of $200 per student, will be invoiced to your February 2020 TADS tuition account near the end of February.  This fee is in addition to your regular monthly tuition payment.

This registration process only applies to current students who are enrolled in the 2019-2020 school year. Auto-enrollment will be processed unless the family notifies the school that they choose to not re-enroll for the 2020-21 school year by January 31, 2020.

Please notify the school in writing at no later than January 31, 2020 if you do not intend to return to St. Peter for the 2020-2021 school year.

New Student Referral Program for Kindergarten - 8th Grade Applicants:

The Board of Ed has made some changes to our referral program this year.

As before, the new family must complete a full school year at St. Peter before the credit is disbursed to the person giving the referral. There are also some very specific guidelines to qualify.  The great news is that the referral credit amount has been raised to $350.00!

Please read the attached document for specific rules and requirements.

Volunteer Hours / NOAH Hours:  Any parents or high school students who need to find a way to get some of these service hours, please consider shelving books in the library.  There is work to be done in here absolutely any time you have a few minutes or a few hours.  We are getting seriously behind and could really use the help!  I'd be happy to tell you the few things you need to know about our filing system, and then you can do as much or as little as you'd like.  Stop in any time!  Mrs. Lori Looker

Solo & Ensemble Instrumentalists and singers:  Solo & Ensemble is coming up on Saturday, March 28th at St. Peter Eastpointe. Consider doing a solo or duet (trio, small group) with a friend. Solo & Ensemble is open to all 5 - 8th graders who have played for at least a year (or had private lessons for a year). All singers (vocalists) are welcome.  Mrs. Boeling and Mr. Napier must approve all music, so please see them if you are interested.

Information will be posted on the bulletin board outside the music room this week. Registrations must be in by February 13th. Please make all checks payable to St. Peter Lutheran School if you are writing a check. A Solo is $10, Ensembles are $5 per person (no more than $20), Please contact Mrs. Boeling or Mr. Napier if you have any questions.

Singers in grades 3rd - 8th:  I am looking for students who are interested in singing for the Maundy Thursday Worship Service at 3:30 PM on Thursday, April 9th.  Holy week is the week of spring break this year. If you would be interested in singing, please let Mrs. Boeling know as soon as possible so she can arrange some rehearsal times for everyone. This is a special service and we would like to add some special music to. The music isn't too hard, but does require a couple of rehearsals to learn it.   Thank you!
